Water

Vacant land is subject to a service charge and to water use charges.

Service Charge
The charge for 2010-11 is $186.60.

Water Use Charges
Residential water use charges apply to vacant land held for residential purposes.  For water use charges please refer to the Rates and Charges - Metropolitan Residential page.

Non-residential water use charges apply to vacant land held for purposes other than residential.  For water use charges please refer to the Rates and Charges - Metropolitan Non-Residential page.

Sewerage

Sewerage charges for vacant land are based on the rateable value of the property.  The rateable value is the Gross Rental Value of the property (generally 5% of the land's capital value) which is determined by the Valuer General.

In 2010-11 the tariffs are:

1.60 cents for each dollar of rateable value.

The minimum metropolitan sewerage charge for vacant land in 2010-11 is $220.70.

Drainage

Drainage charges for vacant land are based on the rateable value of the property.  The rateable value is the Gross Rental Value of the property (generally 5% of the land's capital value) which is determined by the Valuer General.

In 2010-11 the tariff is 0.633 cents for each dollar of the rateable value.

The minimum metropolitan drainage charge for vacant land in 2010-11 is $75.45.
