Activities Undertaken in 2005

The Water Corporation elected to commence a new round of community engagement in 2005.

Officers of the Water Corporation met with staff and councillors of the Shire of Victoria Plains and with staff of the Shire of Moora on 16 June 2005 to discuss the process of site selection and it was agreed that the process of community engagement should recommence with a forum to be held in July.

Community Forum - 18 July 2005

A Community Forum was held in New Norcia on 18 July 2005 in order to gauge the level of support for a Biosolids Storage Facility in the Region, develop a consultation process to find a suitable site, and to confirm the site selection criteria. The community and stakeholders were informed of the meeting by newspaper article, advertisement and invitations by mail.

Community Forum - 12 October 2005

Consultation on the trial site for the Water Corporation's proposed Biosolids Storage Facility continued with about 85 local residents attending a community workshop at New Norcia on Wednesday 12 October 2005 .
