Note: The Sewerage Charge Offset only applies for customers who are subject to quality-quantity charges under their Industrial Waste service.

Industrial Waste charges do not replace your standard sewerage charges, but are charged separately.

Of course, much of the sewerage network and treatment plant capacity charges built into the quality-quantity charges also apply to normal domestic wastewater, and are normally reflected in the Annual Service Charge for your standard Sewerage connection.

When you connect to our Industrial Waste service, the proportion of your wastewater discharge to be subject to quality-quantity charges as Industrial Waste is determined during the assessment of your application. This volume is then excluded from the calculation of your normal Sewerage service Annual Service Charge, so the costs of your standard sewerage connection are reduced by an appropriate amount. You still retain your normal sewerage service, of course, to service your staff facilities and offices.

This Sewerage Charge Offset mechanism ensures that you do not pay twice for your sewerage connection. Instead, these costs are apportioned between your two different wastewater streams.
