Sampling & inspecting the strength, nature and volumes of your wastewater stream is an important element of our service arrangements. It ensures that:
- Your Quality-Quantity Charges will be levied accurately, and that you will reap the rewards of any resource efficiency and cleaner production initiatives you undertake, and
- Your wastewater is within the bounds of the Acceptance Criteria of our public wastewater system, so you can be sure that it will be treated and handled without harm to our community or the environment.
Some elements of the sampling program are undertaken by our Industrial Waste Officers or sewerage system workers, while other elements are more cost effectively undertaken on-site by yourselves. (Any shared responsibilities are usually reflected in the conditions associated with your Industrial Waste Permit.
The results from these monitoring programs are made available to you, to provide feedback on the volume and nature of your wastewater stream. You may even find the information useful as an additional insight into the trends in the performance of your plant and processes, or as a sense check of the conclusions and interpretations drawn from your own process monitoring systems.
For further information about our Sampling and Monitoring programs for Industrial Waste, including opportunities for self-monitoring, please talk to your Water Corporation Relationship Manager, or contact us.
