The WA Horticulture and Environmental Science Skills Centre at Challenger TAFE offers and delivers flexible and versatile training services, research and development.  It is associated with the National Centre for Sustainability and embeds sustainability principles in accordance with the WA State Sustainability Strategy and State Water Strategy.

The Great Gardens Program has been providing free sustainable gardening workshops for the general public since September 2003.  To date over 12,000 people have attended a Great Gardens workshop making it the largest environmental education program of its kind in Western Australia.


International Council for Local Environment Initiatives

The Water CampaignTM is a voluntary, international, water management program which aims to build the capacity of local government to reduce water consumption and improve local water quality.  In Western Australia, the campaign is delivered by ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability Oceania (ICLEI Oceania) in collaboration with the Department of Water as part of the Western Australian State Water Plan.

With the support of the Water Corporation, Irrigation Australia offers training to all irrigators and irrigation design shop staff so as to give them the opportunity to become Water Corporation Endorsed Waterwise Garden Irrigators and Waterwise Irrigation Design Shops.

The Landscape Industry Association WA (LIAWA) with support from the Water Corporation raises the standard of garden design and advice offered by specialist landscapers in Western Australia through education and training.

The Master Plumbers and Gasfitters Association promotes Water Corporation Endorsed Waterwise Plumbers, through the new EnviroWest Plumbing Sustainability course.


Nursery & Garden Industry of Western Australia

The Nursery & Garden Industry WA (NGIWA) & the Water Corporation work together to promote the efficient use of water by the gardening industry and its customers.  The Waterwise Garden Centre program was launched in September 2003 in conjunction with the Nursery and Garden Industry of WA (NGIWA), and Sustainable Gardening Australia (SGA) came on board in 2006.

Sustainable Gardening Australia

Sustainable Gardening Australia (SGA) was established in WA in 2003 and is spread across four states in Australia.  SGA is a non-government, non-profit organisation aimed at raising awareness of gardening practices.  The Waterwise Garden Centre program was launched in September 2003 in conjunction with the Nursery and Garden Industry of WA (NGIWA), and Sustainable Gardening Australia (SGA) came on board in 2006.

The Turf & Landscape Industry Association (T&LIA) works with the Corporation to explore products and services that promote water efficiency in the garden.
