Welcome to the Waterwise Calculator. This tool will assist you in estimating your water usage and comparing it against a Waterwise home.

 

What is it?

The Waterwise Calculator asks you for the number of occupants in your house, the lawn and garden area and what type of appliances you have. It also asks whether you use non-scheme water. This information is then used to generate an estimation of your average daily water use and compares this against a Waterwise home. The presentation is graphical and interactive, so you can adjust your inputs and instantly see the changes and water savings you can make. Whilst your actual usage may differ due to behavioural and seasonal changes, the average figures given do provide a good indication of where and how you can save water.

Java

Our calculator uses Java 1.1 technology, which the majority of web browsers come preinstalled with. If you do not see the calculator after selecting the Launch button, we suggest trying another browser, or upgrading to the latest version. Windows XP users may need to install the Java Runtime Environment in order to view the applet.
