Waterwise Land Developments

The Waterwise Land Development Program offers the land development and building industry the opportunity for making changes in new developments. These changes will be instrumental in helping conserve our state's water supply whilst assisting the community in making the best use of water as we work towards developing water sensitive communities. This initiative follows on from our already successful Waterwise Display Village Program and is directed at making land developments more water efficient and sustainable into the future.

We have worked closely with the land development industry in Western Australia to develop guidelines which will bring about the changes to meet these objectives. By influencing both subdivision and building stages of development, key strategies aimed at achieving best practice water outcomes can be implemented by land developers.

Our Waterwise Land Development Guidelines outline the five steps of becoming an endorsed Waterwise Land Development. Please refer to our Water efficiency criteria guidelines to find out what defines waterwise homes and gardens.
