Why do you charge a transaction fee on credit card payments?

We charge a 0.6% credit card transaction fee to cover the cost of accepting credit card payments. It also applies to debit card payments made using our online payment facility. You can pay your account electronically without incurring the fee by using direct debit or BPAY.
