Perth Seawater Desalination Plant - energy source
The Perth Seawater Desalination Plant is powered indirectly by back-to-back contracts with Synergy and the Emu Downs Wind Farm.

The Corporation has a contract with Synergy to power the desalination plant, which in turn, purchases an equivalent amount of energy from the Emu Downs Wind Farm.

There has been some recent confusion relating to this matter and the Corporation is taking all necessary steps to ensure that future communications are consistent with commitments it has made to the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission.

New program to reduce wastewater system blockages - FOGMan
Approximately 5,000 industrial and commercial customers throughout WA discharge greasy waste into our sewer system. Our new Fats, Oil and Grease Management (FOGMan) program aims to reduce the number of blockages in the wastewater system caused by the build up of fats and greases and wastewater overflows to the environment.

Capital works program update
