| Reduced inflows to dams - Shows how the average amount of water received into our dams has dropped dramatically in recent times | |
We rely on rainfall to soak the catchments surrounding our dams so they receive a steady inflow over the winter months. We have received 26mm of rain in the last seven days and 42mm of rain so far this year (January to February).
Around 25 - 45% of the water that supplies Perth comes from dams in the Darling Range and the South West of the State. The total capacity of our Perth and South West dams is 605 gigalitres. Currently the combined storage is 197.20 gigalitres, 32.6% of their total capacity.
