We understand these are challenging times. If COVID-19 has impacted your business, we want to help by offering a waiver on its major fixtures.

Businesses impacted by COVID-19, which are eligible for the JobKeeper Payment scheme, can apply for the Major Fixtures Waiver. Eligible businesses with four or more major fixtures (toilet, urinal or pan washer) will not be charged for their fourth to 200th fixture inclusive. Normal charges will apply for the first three fixtures and any additional fixtures over 200.

The waiver will be applied for two billing periods covering 1 May 2020 until 31 August 2020. Your account will be credited for the May billing period. 

Eligibility criteria

  1. Your business must be eligible for the JobKeeper Payment scheme. JobKeeper is a payment support scheme for businesses affected by COVID-19, which is administered by the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). You can find more information about JobKeeper by visiting the ATO website.

  2. Your business must have a property with more than three major fixtures. Please check the back of your bill to find out how many major fixtures are billed to your property. If you are a tenant and don’t receive water bills directly from us, speak to your property owner or property manager to see how many fixtures are connected at the property.

  3. Your business can’t already be receiving a State Government discount. You can check this on the front of your bill – look for State Government discount.

Businesses with three or fewer major fixtures, or which hold a State Government discount, are not eligible for this waiver. If your business doesn't meet the eligibility criteria and you are experiencing financial hardship, we have other options available.

Who can apply? 

Owners, managing agents and tenants can apply for the Major Fixtures Waiver. 

Note to tenants: We advise that you let your property owner or property manager know that you have applied, so that they can pass on the waiver to you. 

How to apply 

You can apply for the Major Fixtures Waiver online. Once you have applied, we will assess your application within ten working days.

We will send you an email to notify you of the outcome of the assessment. If approved, an Advice of the Adjustment will be issued to the property owner or property manager, and the waiver will be applied to the property account.

We encourage you to contact your property owner or property manager to let them know that you have applied for the Major Fixtures Waiver and that they will receive an email advising the outcome of your application. If approved, they will also receive an Advice of Adjustment that includes the waived amount.
