What's happening?

Our authorised contractor, DM Civil, will soon start work to improve our wastewater services in Champion Lakes & Seville Grove. The work includes installation of approximately 1.26 kilometres wastewater pipeline along McNeill Road, Fallon Place and Ticklie Road, as well as upgrading the McNeill Road wastewater pump station to connect to the existing wastewater pipeline on Seville Drive.

Please refer to map below of the work area.

When is this happening?

Work is starting in November 2019 and is estimated to be completed by the end of April 2020.The majority of work will be completed Monday to Friday between 7am and 5pm as approved by your local council.

How will this impact the community?

Noise will be kept to a minimum, however, construction will involve road cutting, excavating and compacting. These activities are most noticeable at the start and finish of our work, when we cut and excavate, and then when we backfill and compact to reinstate affected areas. Please be assured that any affected areas will be reinstated as close as possible to their condition prior to the work. If any trees, shrubs, or lawn needs to be removed, they will be replaced and the area restored.

At times traffic management will be in place, as required, to direct vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists safely around the work area.

How is work progressing?

Due to unfavourable ground conditions, work progressed slower than expected on McNeill Road, which has resulted in a delay in completing this section of work.

The last section of work, to be completed at the McNeill Road Wastewater Pump Station on the corner of McNeill Road and Lake Road, is now expected to be completed by the end of May 2020.

Current road closure April 2020

  • Full road closure – ~350m section of McNeill Road, off Lake Rd (access via Ranford Road). In progress until approximately Thursday, 30 April 2020.

Please see below map of the work area.

Traffic Management
In addition to the daily traffic management around the construction site, the road and lane closures may add additional time to your journey. We encourage drivers to allow for extra travel time or seek an alternative route where possible. Please remember to drive safely and be mindful of increased activity in the area.

We apologise for this inconvenience and will minimise disruption as much as possible.
