What's happening?

As part of our ongoing commitment to future-proof Perth’s water supply, we will soon be replacing 2.1kms of water pipe on Beaufort Street between Walcott Street, Mount Lawley and Dundas Road, Inglewood in the City of Stirling.

This work forms part of our Pipes for Perth program and is essential to prevent any future breaks in the water network and to maintain a reliable water supply to the area.

Where is this happening?

Work will take place on Beaufort Street between Walcott Street in Mount Lawley and Dundas Road in Inglewood.

Work will be carried out in a three stage approach to minimise traffic impacts and to maximise construction efficiency. Each stage will take up to eight weeks to complete.

• Stage One: Walcott Street to First Avenue
• Stage Two: First Avenue to Central Avenue
• Stage Three: Central Ave to Dundas Road

Please refer to the map below.

When is this happening?

The first stage of construction work between Walcott Street and First Avenue is planned to begin on 26 April 2022 and will take approximately 8 weeks to complete.

All work is expected to be completed by November 2022.

More detailed schedules will be provided by our authorised Contractor Civcon soon and uploaded here.

What will the impacts be?

During construction, both lanes of Beaufort Street (northbound) will be closed within the stage area and detours will be in place. Beaufort Street (southbound) will remain unchanged.

Access will largely still be provided to side streets and car parks during the work, from the southbound lane.

While one stage of work is being completed, the other two stage areas of Beaufort Street (northbound) will remain open, however detours will still be in place. Detour maps for each stage are provided below.

All construction work will be undertaken within the road, so pedestrian access to businesses will remain open throughout the period.

Please continue to support local businesses during the work and thank you for your patience while we complete this essential work.
