This irrigation service includes up to $250 off minor sprinkler repairs and recommended products, which may go towards the purchase and installation of a weather-based automatic irrigation system controller.

The Corporation’s Waterwise Irrigation Service is available to Water Corporation customers only. The program offers a waterwise irrigation service to reduce water use by improving irrigation efficiency, conducted by a contractor employed by Water Corporation.

The service provided may include good and services up to the value of $250 for each customer (at the discretion of contractor and/or Project Manager) based on customer needs and could include:

  • Checking and setting your current irrigation controller and sprinklers to best suit the needs of your lawn and garden while optimising its efficiency and ensuring it is compliant with your allocated watering days.
  • Where an irrigation controller is not already installed, contractor can provide recommendations for approved waterwise irrigation controller, including installation and set up (if value hasn’t be expended).
  • If current irrigation controller in place requires upgrade, contractor can make recommendations to purchase and install a new waterwise controller or component. (refer to table of approved products, please note these products may vary depending on region).
  • A system test to identify and rectify broken, missing or incorrect sprinkler heads, repair or replacement of inefficient sprinkler heads, such as microsprays.
  • Installation of a rain sensor and/or soil moisture sensor and/or weather sensor or compatible component to enable weather base irrigation control.
  • Personalised instruction on how to use your controller including a demonstration of how to make seasonal adjustments, including an irrigation controller programming card for future reference.
  • Providing advice on the best treatments for your existing lawn and gardens.

The Service is offered free of charge to eligible customers, but limits apply. Eligible towns are listed on the Water Corporation’s website and customers need to register their details through an online form.

An Irrigator will carry out an Inspection of the irrigation system at Your property and determine whether any irrigation components need to be repaired, retrofitted or replaced to improve water efficiency.

The Corporation offers this Program in accordance with the following terms and conditions. By registering Your interest in the Program You have accepted these terms and conditions.


  • Corporation: the Water Corporation;
  • Inspection: the Irrigator’s inspection of Your property to identify and document the repair, retrofit and replacement requirements for the irrigation system at Your property;
  • Irrigator: Irrigation Contractor;
  • Irrigation Controller: irrigation controller;
  • Program: the Corporation’s Waterwise Irrigation Service;
  • Service means the irrigation services provided to repair, retrofit and/or replace irrigation system, provided in accordance with the Program;
  • You; the person wishing to participate in the Program;
  • Approved: approved by the Water Corporation Project Manager
  • Residential: a customer not identified as business customer


To qualify for this Program You must be a customer of the Water Corporation and Your property must be property located in the towns listed on Water Corporation’s website.

If You are a tenant, prior to the Irrigator’s visit to Your property, You must obtain, and provide to the Corporation, the landlord’s written permission to participate in the Program and to allow the Irrigator to undertake the Services.


The Service will be provided by an Irrigator who will:

  • undertake the Inspection;
  • recommend what work is required to improve water efficiency of the system;
  • if within the value and listed on inclusions, obtain approval from the customer to undertake the Services
  • itemise the costs making it clear which costs will be covered by Water Corporation under this program up to the total value of $250

The Corporation will pay the cost of:

  • the Inspection;
  • all approved irrigation components required to repair, replace or retrofit existing, and install irrigation components up to the value of $250;
    - list of approved weather smart irrigation controllers (these products may vary depending on region)

Registrations of interest must be received by 1 May 2022. Registrations may close earlier if allocations are exhausted.

The Water Corporation (‘Corporation’) warrants that it will use reasonable care and skill in performing the Irrigation Service (‘Service’) to the standard generally accepted within the industry in which the irrigation contractor operates for the type of service.

The Corporation will not be liable for any claims or loss suffered as a result of the Service unless, and only to the extent that, the Corporation has been negligent.

If the Irrigator performs the Service (or any part of the service) negligently, then, if requested by the customer, the Irrigator will re-perform the relevant part of the Service, subject to paragraphs 1 and 4.

The customer’s request referred to in paragraph 3 must be made within 30 days after the date the irrigation contractor completed the Service.

The relevant Irrigator who completed the service will be responsible for managing all aspect of customer service associated with their products and services, including but not limited to bookings, installations, warranty claims and complaints.
