We’re offering a free spring sprinkler check to Perth and Peel households. Whether your irrigation system is old or new, it’s a good idea to have it checked by a professional. This will help you get the most out of your irrigation to keep your garden healthy and save water.

Early access for garden bore owners

Bore water users can apply from 1 August 2022 to help adapt to a new two-day watering roster. Registration for scheme users will open from 1 September 2022.

What does the sprinkler check include?

We'll arrange for a qualified Waterwise Garden Irrigator to:

  • Check for leaks in your irrigation system
  • Check for broken sprinkler heads and inefficient misting or micro sprayers
  • Check your irrigation controller and system are operating correctly
  • Set the optimal run times for your garden
  • Provide advice on how to get the most out of your irrigation system

The check does not include:

  • Significant replacement of parts or fixing complicated issues. The irrigator may make minor repairs at their discretion.
  • Irrigation system redesigns or mapping
  • Irrigation controller replacement
  • Garden maintenance

The irrigator will complete a worksheet with you to confirm the completed work. It’s essential that someone from your household is home for the check to discuss your irrigation. You’re not obliged to complete any extra recommended work at your own cost.

Frequently asked questions

If you wish to have extra work or recommendations completed, talk to your irrigator about when they could complete these tasks and have them provide a quote to you. This can be dealt with directly between yourself and the irrigator.

This offer is available to Water Corporation account customers with a functioning automatic irrigation controller in the Perth and Peel region, as a one-time only offer. If you have received a Spring Sprinkler Service last year, you are no longer eligible for a Check.

Once you submit your registration for a Spring Sprinkler Check, the details provided will be given to a Waterwise Irrigator which services your location. They will get in touch to organise a time block and date for your check. You will be sent an email from Water Corporation confirming your registration is received and advising of key information such as who your irrigator will be.

If your irrigator attempts to contact you several times and cannot reach you (or a call is not returned), your Spring Sprinkler Check will not go ahead.

Once your check is finished, you will receive a confirmation checklist with information about what was completed, and any recommendations made. These recommendations are completely up to you to book and pay for. You are under no obligation to have these recommendations completed.

You don't need to pay the Waterwise Irrigator for anything which is part of the Spring Sprinkler Check.

You may receive an email later requesting feedback about the program and your check.

Yes! Please make sure you get the Water Corporation account number from your property manager or property owner so you can fill in the online application form. Ensure you have permission for the Spring Sprinkler Check from your property manager or owner before starting your registration as you will need to confirm you have sought and received approval.

It's mandatory someone is home when the check is undertaken. This is to ensure any Waterwise advice is communicated, and any permissions sought, before your irrigator undertakes any work.

Unfortunately, the check needs a functioning automatic irrigation controller at your property. However, you are welcome to take up our Weather Based Irrigation Controller Rebate towards a new controller and the professional set up at a reduced cost*. Once you have an irrigation controller, you are welcome to apply for a Spring Sprinkler Check.

The repair of an automatic irrigation controller, beyond changing of batteries or minor adjustments, is outside the included offer and will incur an additional cost for repair.

*Please see the Spring Sprinkler Check Terms and Conditions for more information.

You can apply to have a Spring Sprinkler Check for a maximum of three properties. They must all have separate Water Corporation account numbers, and the tenant (if the property is leased) must be notified about the check being performed including the time and date.

If more than three properties are registered, your registration will be rejected for any further additional properties.
