What's happening?

We are installing a new water main from the corner of Yangebup Road and Williambury Drive, along Rapania rise, cross Beeliar Drive to Catspaw Avenue, crossing Bluebush Avenue to Friarbird Terrace. The new pipeline will connect to existing infrastructure near the corner of Spearwood Avenue and The Grange.

This work will help ensure we can continue to supply water to the growing community within the City of Cockburn.

Please view the Beeliar project map for the full scope of work.

What are the impacts?

Residents will notice more noise and activity along the new pipeline. Construction will involve road cutting, excavating and compacting.

To reduce the impact on the local community and commuters, the new pipeline will be constructed in stages, using a mix of open trench excavation and trenchless technology.

Traffic management will be in place to safely direct vehicles and pedestrians around the work area. Some road closures will be necessary and we will communicate these impacts to affected residents as we move along the pipeline.

We have a strong commitment to protecting the environment and endeavour to plan our work to minimise the impact to protected flora and fauna species. We are working with the City of Cockburn to develop a plan to rehabilitate the bushland area following the pipeline installation work.

Some sections of pipe will be installed in verges and roads. We follow a thorough reinstatement process and ensure all impacted areas, including driveways, verges and roads, are replaced like for like, where practically possible.

We are working closely with the City of Cockburn and residents to ensure all reinstatements are carried out to an acceptable and high standard, including the rehabilitation of the bushland area between Friarbird Terrace and Spearwood Avenue.

When is this happening?

Work started Monday 6 April 2020 and is expected to be completed by September 2020.

During this period our contractor, Rob Carr, will work between Monday to Saturday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. If we need to work outside these work hours we will notify impacted residents.
