Waterwise Development Program

The Waterwise Development Program is unique to WA and enables developments that have applied water efficient principles to be recognised and endorsed by Water Corporation.

To help make WA a more water efficient community we are working with the Urban Development Institute of Australia (WA Division) to recognise exceptional water efficiency outcomes in all new water sensitive developments.

The Waterwise Development Program launched in August 2014, provides an opportunity to acknowledge the important role of the development sector in ensuring our communities are using water as efficiently as possible while sustaining our unique lifestyle.

Endorsed Waterwise Developments will receive the following benefits:

  • Acknowledgement by Water Corporation as a Waterwise Development.
  • Access to the Waterwise logo to promote the project as a Waterwise Development.
  • Promotional materials such as flags or signage for use in entry statements, display villages or similar.
  • Educational resources to provide new homebuyers and tenants with water saving information.
  • Access to a list of professionals for waterwise advice, services and products to save water.
  • Access to tools and resources to support the development to meet water efficiency requirements.

To become an endorsed Waterwise Development, the project needs to have registered with the EnviroDevelopment Program and have met the requirements to achieve certification for the water element.

In order to retain endorsement the project must comply with the EnviroDevelopment program annual re-certification process. If the project does not meet these requirements it will be removed from the program.

This program is voluntary and there is no cost to participate.
