Project Goal:

To conduct emergency repair work to a damaged sewer along Marine Parade, Cottesloe

In progress

Update -Marine Pde northbound lane closure

The northbound lane of Marine Parade adjacent to Car Park Ones is closed while we excavate the damaged wastewater main. We ask drivers to divert along Forrest road, Broome and Napier street (please see detour map below).

The southbound lane on Marine Parade will remain open during this work.

At this stage we anticipate the lane to be closed until end of June 2023 but we will be able to have a better understanding of timeframes once we excavate, clean and survey the full length of the main.

Thank you for your ongoing patience. We will minimise any noise and disruption, where possible and keep the community updated as we progress.

What's happening?

We are conducting emergency repairs to a damaged sewer main at Car Park One on Marine Parade, Cottesloe.

We are installing a temporary above ground pipeline along Marine Parade, Cottesloe between Forrest and Napier Street. This pipeline will help us secure and manage wastewater flows in the area while we plan the repairs.

Details of the permanent repair are being investigated and more construction work will be required. Rest assured we will continue to keep the community updated.

Where is this happening?

We have successfully installed approximately 460 metres of temporary above-ground bypass pipeline and pumps along the western side of the Marine Parade footpath. This has allowed us to bypass the damaged main and continue to safely dispose of the wastewater within Cottesloe.

What are the impacts?

You will notice fencing and signage in Car Park One and along Marine Parade.

The emergency repair work will require the temporary closure of half the parking bays in Car Park One and an adjoining section of pedestrian footpath along Marine Parade.  Alternate access is in place to ensure safe access around the impacted area.

A temporary above ground bypass pipeline and electric pumps will be visible in the area. They are an essential part in managing the damaged sewer main.

Road works and reinstatements will be needed, these will be managed with as minimal disruption as possible.

During the work, there is potential for intermittent noise and odours from the site, which will be closely monitored.

We understand and appreciate that this work may cause temporary inconvenience and disruption, and we will do what we can to minimise impacts where possible.
