Rainwater rewards

From 1 October 2019, residents in Peppermint Grove Beach, Yallingup, Cowaramup, Margaret River and Denmark will be eligible to apply for a rainwater tank rebate.

Rainwater tanks are a great way to reduce our dependency on scheme water. And when they’re plumbed into your home, the benefits are even greater – saving up to 20% of the average in-house water use each year. A 125m2 roof area can collect up to 51,000 litres of water annually, supplying part of a household’s water needs.

From 1 October 2019, our Rainwater Rewards Program is providing residents in the following select towns a chance to claim significant financial rebates on the cost of new or existing rainwater tanks.

The offer

Our Rainwater Rewards Program offers the following rebates:

  • New tank and plumbing - 50% off the cost up to a maximum of $1000 for a tank and the plumbing for a new rainwater tank with a capacity of 2000L or more that is plumbed in;

OR

  • Plumbing in an existing tank - 50% off the cost up to a maximum of $500 for plumbing in an existing rainwater tank with a capacity of 2000L or more;

OR

  • Replacing an existing plumbed in tank - 50% off the cost up to a maximum of $500 for the rainwater tank with a capacity of 2000L or more.

How to claim the reward - from 1 October 2019

  1. complete, sign and submit the Application Form (available 1 October 2019)
  2. include a copy of the tax invoice for the purchase of the tank,
  3. include the licensed plumber’s declaration, as well as a copy of the tax invoice and receipt for plumbing work

Definitions

The following are applied for the purpose of the reward program.

  • Plumbed in: a permanent connection, installed by a licensed plumber, between a rainwater tank to the internal plumbing for the house (E.g. toilet, laundry).
  • Proof of purchase: for example, a receipt or tax invoice for the rainwater tank and/or plumbing services. The receipt or tax invoice must include the rainwater tank capacity in litres.
