A small branching shrub with ornamental, silver-grey, slender, upright branches and small leaves forming a dome shape to 1 metre high and wide. Small, yellow flowers are produced in ball-shaped clusters on the stem tips from late summer into autumn.

Cultivars include 'Canal Rocks', 'Gracetown', 'Silver Cushion', 'Silver Dome' and 'Silver Nugget'. All tolerate full coastal exposure.
