Water Corporation will refurbish ageing wastewater pipes in Como from April - June 2018.
Sewer relining uses trenchless technology to clean access chambers and refurbish existing wastewater pipes.
Please refer to the map on the second tab above for the Como sewer relining work area.
What are the impacts?
Residents may notice more activity in the area, noise from generators and vehicles and temporary odour.
Access to your property may be required to carry out some of the work. If so, the contractor, Interflow, will contact you directly to discuss and arrange entry.
Where required, traffic management will be in place to direct people safely around the work area.
Work is expected to begin late April and be completed by June 2018. It will take place on Saunders Street (Axford St intersection) and continue along the wastewater route to Robert St in Como (see map).
We will work from Monday to Saturday between 7am and 5pm and we will generally be in one area for six days at a time.
Commencing 11 June 2018, we will work to seal junctions along the wastewater route and expect to take up to three weeks to complete (refer to map).
This work will be carried out at night when wastewater flows are at their lowest between 7pm and 6am. We will work from Monday to Saturday and will generally be in one area for six days at a time.
