Kalgup Bridge and Drainage Upgrades

back to current projects

Project goal:

Replacing a drainage floodway in Kalgup to ensure the long term safety of road users and the protection of properties.

Status:

Commencing soon

Delivery Date:

Early 2020

What is happening?

We are replacing Ford Crossing No.26, a drainage floodway on Lindberg Road, Kalgup. The crossing, which is in poor condition and has been found to be unsafe to traverse and inaccessible during winter, will be replaced with a concrete culvert structure.

When is this happening?

Work is commencing in November 2019, and is expected to take around 3 months to complete. The majority of work will be completed Monday to Friday between 7am and 7pm.

What is the impact during construction?

Ford Crossing No.26 will be closed for construction throughout the work. As such, Lindberg Road will be closed to through traffic, however local traffic will be able to enter from either end of the road and access properties up to the crossing.

There will be traffic management in place during construction to direct road users safely around the work. Detours will be in place, with traffic directed to Acton Park Road and Kalgup Road as alternative routes.
