Status:

In construction

Delivery Date:

30 June 2019

What's happening?

We are completing a $4.1 million project to install a new gantry crane at the Kununurra Diversion Bridge, which is located under the Victoria Highway. The installation of the crane will be completed in two parts. The original crane was removed in early May 2019 and placed on the corner of Millington Road and the Victoria Highway. This crane will be turned into a heritage monument for the community. The new crane will be installed over three nights from 9pm and 5.30am on Monday 17 June, Tuesday 18 June and Wednesday 19 June, 2019.

Where is this happening?

Work will take place at Kununurra Diversion Bridge, located  under the Victoria Highway.

Why is this work taking place?

To replace the original crane that was removed in early May.

How will this impact the community?

The work to install the new crane will result in the temporary closure of the Kununurra Diversion Dam Bridge, which forms part of the Victoria Highway. The closure will take place over three nights from 9pm and 5.30am on Monday 17 June, Tuesday 18 June and Wednesday 19 June, 2019. We have made arrangements to allow emergency service providers to access the bridge during the closure, if needed.
