Project goal:

Construct a new 4.5 million litre drinking water bore to provide the town of Kununurra with adequate standby capacity

We will constructing a new 4.5 million litre drinking water bore and associated pipework to improve the reliability of supply to the town of Kununurra, providing adequate standby capacity.

This bore will be located within the existing Kununurra borefield near Victoria Highway, within the Shire of Wyndham-East Kimberley.

Community benefits

This new bore will produce up to 4.5 million litres per day and will also act as a contingency source for the town of Wyndham, in the event of a water supply main failure.


Construction at this stage is expected to start in August and be completed at the end of October 2017.

Work will be carried out between the hours of 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
