Water Corporation will refurbish ageing wastewater pipes in Maylands from September 2018 to January 2019.
Sewer relining uses trenchless technology to clean access chambers and refurbish existing wastewater pipes.
Please refer to the map on the second tab above for the Maylands sewer relining work area.
What are the impacts?
Residents may notice more activity along the wastewater route and around the pump stations plus noise from generators and vehicles. Where required, traffic management will be in place to direct people safely around the work area.
Access to your property may be required to carry out some of the work. If so, the contractor, Interflow, will contact you directly to discuss the work and arrange entry. Please note we will not need to enter your home.
If you experience any odour in your bathroom during this work, flush your toilet and pour water down the floor drain. Where possible, please close all toilet covers during this period and if wastewater does overflow out of your toilet, notify Steve Thompson from Interflow on 0407 157 056 immediately. Interflow will attend to assess the issue and notify the Department of Health.
Sewer relining work is expected to begin from September 2018 and take four months to complete.
During this period, we will work from Monday to Saturday between 7.00 am and 5.00 pm, as approved by the City of Bayswater. We will generally be in one area for six days at a time and you will be notified prior to us commencing in your area.
Railway Parade night work
Night work is expected to commence on Monday 1 October and take one week to complete.
Work will take place along Railway Parade, Maylands between Kennedy St and Eighth Ave. During this period, we will work from between 8.00 pm and 6.00 am.
