In February 2018, Water Corporation will begin work in West Perth to refurbish ageing wastewater pipes. The sewer relining work is carried out using trenchless technology to clean access chambers and refurbish existing wastewater pipes.
Fitzgerald Street, West Perth
Work is expected to begin in mid February and take 2 weeks to complete. It will start from the Robertson Park Tennis Centre and progress across Fitzgerald Street to the WA Italian Club carpark (refer to map). We will work from Monday to Saturday between 7am to 6pm.
Mick Michael Park, West Perth
Work is expected to begin in early March and take 1 week to complete. It will take place within Mick Michael Park on the corner of Charles and Violet Streets (refer to map). We will mostly work from Monday to Saturday between 7am to 6pm, however some night work will be required. Nearby residents will receive another night work notification closer to the time.
How will this impact me?
Residents may notice more activity in these areas, noise from generators and vehicles and temporary odour. Where required, traffic management will be in place to direct people safely around the work area.
If our contractor, Interflow, requires access to your property, they will contact you directly to discuss the work and arrange entry. Please note we will not need to enter your home.
If you experience any odour in your bathroom during this work, flush your toilet and pour water down the floor drain. Where possible, please close all toilet covers during this period and if wastewater does overflow out of your toilet, notify Steve Thompson from Interflow on 0407 157 056 immediately. Interflow will attend to assess the issue and notify the Department of Health.
