Water Corporation is replacing 150 metres of water supply main along the road reserve of Boulder Road, between Coventry Street and Roberts Street in Kalgoorlie. We will also be replacing 50 metres of water supply main along the road reserve of Roberts Street, near the corner of Boulder Road and Roberts Street. Replacing these sections of main will improve the reliability of supply to customers in the area.
Upcoming planned interruption to water supply to some customers along Boulder Road, Roberts Street, Shea Street, Coventry Street and East Street
As part of this work we are required to connect the replacement main to the existing service. To complete this work we will be required to temporarily interrupt customers' water supply over three consecutive evenings. This work has been scheduled in this way, to ensure we are not impacting customers over a longer period of time.
During this work, some customers will experience a temporary water supply interruption for up to eight hours, between the times below:
- 10pm, Monday 26 November to 6am, Tuesday 27 November, 2018
- 10pm, Tuesday 27 November to 6am, Wednesday 28 November, 2018
- 10pm, Wednesday 28 November to 6am, Thursday 29 November, 2018
Please view this information for further details about this planned water supply interruption.

We will install the pipe via trenchless technology to minimise any construction impacts, however some of this work will still require digging an open trench. This will be required to create entry and exit pits to install the new pipe underneath the road reserve/verge and if any new property connections are required. Minimal dust and noise is expected when we conduct open trenching and we will ensure these areas are fenced off to ensure public safety.
Traffic access and flow will be maintained throughout the duration of this work and traffic management will be in place as required. Project signage will also be in place.
This work is expected to start in mid-November and be completed by mid-December 2018. Working hours will be between 8am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday. Some work on Sundays may also be required, however this will be avoided where possible.
