back to current projects

Project goal:

Upgrade wastewater infrastructure in Two Rocks and Yanchep

In construction

Delivery Date:

March 2019

What’s happening?

In January 2018, we began work to upgrade the wastewater infrastructure in Two Rocks and Yanchep.

This work included the construction of:

  • 4.2 km of wastewater main along Two Rocks Road in Two Rocks
  • 1 km of wastewater main along Lisford Avenue in Two Rocks
  • 1 km of wastewater main along the extension of Marmion Avenue in Yanchep
  • new below ground wastewater pump station on Charnwood Reserve
  • upgrade of the existing Abrolhos Close Wastewater Pump Station.

Our authorised contractor is RCR Water. Their site office is located on Charnwood Reserve.

We are working with the City of Wanneroo to minimise impacts on the community as much as possible and now expect to complete the upgrade work in March 2019.

What are the community impacts?

Progress so far

Since work began in January 2018, approximately 6.25 kilometres of wastewater pipeline has been installed in Two Rocks and Yanchep, with approximately 31 metres of pipeline remaining.

The new below ground wastewater pump station on Charnwood Reserve and upgrades of the existing Abrolhos Close Wastewater Pump Station are now complete.

We are currently installing the last section of pipe near the intersection of Lisford Ave and Sovereign Drive and expect .

Work near Lisford Avenue and Sovereign Drive intersection

Work began in early August to install the last section of wastewater pipeline near the Lisford Avenue and Sovereign Drive intersection in Two Rocks.

To complete this work, we are required to insert large sheet piles into the excavated area to provide necessary support to the trench.

We will continue to work between 7.00 am and 5.00 pm, from Monday to Friday as approved by the City of Wanneroo and expect to complete this section of work by March 2019.

During this time, residents and shopping centre visitors may notice more noise, vibration and vehicles in the area, however we will do all we can to minimise impact on the community as much as possible.

While traffic management will be in place near the intersection, access to the Two Rocks Shopping Centre and Yanchep Public Library will not be restricted.

Traffic management

Residents and commuters will notice construction at the intersection of Lisford Avenue and Sovereign Drive.

Traffic management will be in place to direct vehicles and pedestrians safely around the work area. Two Rocks Road will remain open to traffic at all times.

To build the new wastewater pump station, 4 trees (2 peppermint trees and 2 coastal moort trees) have been removed on Charnwood Reserve. As agreed with the City of Wanneroo, these trees have been replaced with 12 smaller trees (6 peppermint trees and 6 coastal moort trees).

The Bush Forever site along Two Rocks Road will not be impacted during this work. Some trees along the western side of Two Rocks Road reserve were removed to install the new wastewater main and have now been replaced.

How can I keep updated about this work?

A project notification was sent to Two Rocks and Yanchep residents when work began in January 2018.

Members of the community are welcome to contact the project team at any time during the work, using the details in the above tab. Residents and businesses located closest to work areas will receive additional notifications about future work as it is scheduled.
