What's happening
Water Corporation has completed the first stage of the Wagin and Katanning water supply improvements project. This work included the construction of 10.9 kms of new water supply pipeline which will improve the reliability of water supply to the towns of Wagin and Katanning.
The new water supply pipeline will increase transfer capacity along the Narrogin-Katanning pipeline to cater for future growth in Katanning and provide an increase in water storage capacity at Wagin.
The second stage of this project will see Water Corporation upgrade the Wardelocking Reservoir by adding a roof, liner and chlorine dosing system to the reservoir’s outlet. The upgrade will increase the tank’s water storage capacity to 3.6 million litres, providing adequate water supply for customers in Wagin and catering for future growth in the area.
Work on the Wardelocking Reservoir will commence in April 2018 and is expected to be completed in March 2019.
