Water Corporation customers in Kwinana, Medina and surrounding suburbs may experience a slight reduction in water pressure and/or discoloured water from Thursday, 30 April 2015.

A system change will be made to the drinking water supply scheme on this day to accommodate the start of essential maintenance works at the Kwinana Water Recycling Plant.  The system change will be in place for four weeks, with the potential for a slight reduction in water pressure and/or discoloured water throughout this time.

Water Corporation will make the temporary change to allow customers in the industrial area to continue their operations for the duration of the maintenance works.

Discoloured water generally occurs when system changes are made, which can stir up sediment that has settled in pipes and cause discolouration. This sediment is harmless and the water is safe for use.

Customers who may experience stained laundry as a result of the discoloured water should keep the laundry submerged in a bucket of water and contact Water Corporation to receive a special cleaning agent.

Any customer who experiences prolonged discoloured water, or require a laundry cleaning agent as a result of discoloured water, should phone Water Corporation’s 24 hour Faults, Emergencies and Security line on 13 13 75.

Water Corporation apologises for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks customers in advance for their patience while we carry out this essential work.

The Kwinana Water Recycling Plant provides high quality recycled water to industrial customers within the Kwinana Industrial Area – reducing demand on drinking water and groundwater supplies.
