Just before 8am this morning a chlorine detection alarm was activated at Water Corporation’s Wanneroo Reservoir.

Staff responded and directed contractors working in another area of the reservoir to the designated muster point.

As a precautionary measure, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services was called and attended the site by approximately 9am.

The leak has now been repaired and any residue chlorine vapours are dissipating.

The leak of chlorine vapours occurred in a storage facility at the reservoir. No person on site at the time of the leak was affected.

Water Corporation apologises for any inconvenience or concern this may have caused local residents.
