The school won a competition to make a water saving video, with its great entry demonstrating students’ passion for sharing the waterwise message. In the video, students turn into water saving superheros and share their waterwise tips.

Water Corporation General Manager Customer and Community Group, Catherine Ferrari, thanked the school for its efforts to share the waterwise message.

“It is great to see Westfield Park Primary School’s passion for being waterwise in its winning video,” Ms Ferrari said.

“To Water Corporation, each and every student at Westfield Park Primary School is a water saving superhero, so it was fitting they received a performance from our very own Captain Waterwise.

“With students now on school holidays, I’m sure they are continuing to be water saving superheros! We look forward to you officially joining our Waterwise Schools Program in 2017.”

Westfield Park teacher Louise Archibald said the visit from Captain Waterwise was a great way to end the school year.

“The show was awesome! Captain Waterwise was fantastic at engaging and interacting with teachers and students throughout the show,” Ms Archibald said.

“The show promoted waterwise tips that the students could use in everyday life to save water.

“Students enjoyed singing along with Captain Waterwise in the show. The excitement and laughter from the students and staff during the show was great to see.”

Ardross Primary School also won a visit from Captain Waterwise through the competition.

Now in its 21st year, Water Corporation’s Waterwise Schools Program takes a long-term approach to water education and behavioural change, and complements the curriculum across all major learning areas. There are 568 Waterwise Schools across Western Australia.
