Water Corporation North West Regional Manager Rino Trolio said the previous pump station was meeting the current peak demands, but was due for an upgrade.

“The new pump station will allow for the population growth in the area for the next 15 to 20 years,” Mr Trolio said.

“This $6.2 million project included six new water pumps, a new emergency generator system, two new switch rooms and a new surge vessel to ensure an even and reliable supply of water to the area.

Mr Trolio said construction on the project started in June 2016 and was completed at the end of July 2017.

“We want to thank residents and businesses in the Cable Beach area for their patience during the planned temporary interruptions to the water supply needed to carry out this work, and to those who may have experienced pressure fluctuations during the construction period,” Mr Trolio said.
