• Water Corporation program supports continued water savings in Dalyellup

  • Program includes a series of personalised letters, a free Showerhead Swap program and irrigation reset service

Water Corporation South West Regional Manager John Janssen today encouraged households in Dalyellup to keep up the good work after making some great water savings since a new program began in October.

“Water Corporation’s new water saving program includes a series of personalised letters, a free Showerhead Swap Program and irrigation reset service,” Mr Janssen said.

“Letters sent to around 2,500 Water Corporation customers in Dalyellup, containing personalised information about water use and tips to help reduce water use, has already led to around 20 million litres of water being saved.”

“By receiving updates every two months, households are viewing the results of their water saving efforts – with small changes having a big impact on water use.”

Mr Janssen said residents had found Water Corporation’s free irrigation reset service particularly helpful, with those taking up the opportunity to use the service saving the most water.

“Dalyellup residents have shown an impressive long term reduction in water use and this program provides a water use analysis every two months to help households understand the positive impact of their water saving efforts,” Mr Janssen said.

“I encourage the Dalyellup community to keep up their water saving habits in their households, especially during the warmer months when water use peaks, and to take advantage of other initiatives such as the Waterwise Garden Rewards program.”

Reducing community water use forms part of Water Corporation’s 50-year plan Water Forever: South West to secure the region’s water supplies in the drying climate.
