Unsure how to program your garden irrigation system to your rostered watering days? Find out by attending the free Waterwise Irrigation Workshop to be held at Subiaco Community Centre in Subiaco on Tuesday, 21 November from 5.30pm to 7pm.

Water Corporation is working with Waterwise Council, City of Subiaco, and South Metropolitan TAFE to deliver the free workshop to help households save water.

Water Corporation spokesperson Clare Lugar said it was important to prepare gardens for warmer weather.

“More than 40 per cent of household water use occurs outside the home and with summer approaching, now is the time to make sure your irrigation system is working efficiently,” Ms Lugar said.

“The workshop will cover how to choose the right irrigation systems, efficient irrigation of lawns and gardens, subsurface watering and how to use your irrigation controller.”

Water Corporation recently launched two programs to help households save water in the garden.

The Waterwise Irrigation Controller Offer is available through Waterwise Irrigation Specialists and allows Perth households to receive a 50 per cent discount (maximum of $350) on weather based irrigation controllers.

The Waterwise Garden Rewards Program allows Water Corporation customers to purchase selected mulch, soil wetting agent and soil improvers from Bunnings and receive one, two or three more products, free of charge.
