Water Corporation has reminded the Kalgoorlie-Boulder community to check their sprinkler systems after power outages caused by recent storms.

Some automatic sprinkler systems re-set after a power outage, which could result in sprinklers coming on outside of rostered watering days.

Water Corporation Acting Goldfields and Agricultural Regional Manager, Derek Host, encouraged the community to check their sprinkler systems.

“Unless you have backup batteries, it is likely your sprinkler system reset during the recent power outages,” Mr Host said.

“I encourage households and businesses to check their systems are operating on the correct days. In Kalgoorlie-Boulder sprinkler systems can be used two-days per week – either before 9am or after 6pm.

“Your rostered watering day is based on the last digit of your house or lot number. If there is no house number, the lot number is used.”
