Temporary interruption to Broomes water supply for essential work
Broome residents living in suburbs north of the airport will experience a water outage for eight hours from 10pm on Wednesday, 13 December, while Water Corporation carries out essential work.
Water Corporation North West Regional Manager, Rino Trolio, said the work involved upgrading valves in the water supply scheme, which linked to the recently upgraded Cable Beach Pump Station.
“The work we’re undertaking will improve the water supply to customers in the Cable Beach and Roebuck Estate areas,” Mr Trolio said.
“We’ve planned the work to take place between 10pm on Wednesday, 13 December to 6am on Thursday, 14 December, to reduce inconvenience to local residents.
“Suburbs affected by a temporary interruption to water supplies include Roebuck Estate, Cable Beach North and Cable Beach Tourist Precinct, Sunset Rise, Sunset Park, Djaigween, Broome North Estate, Blue Haze, Lullfitz Drive and Sands Street.
“Locals and holiday makers will need to manage their own water needs during the supply interruption. Those with special water requirements are encouraged to contact us on 13 13 75 as soon as possible.
"I thank the Broome community in advance for its cooperation and understanding during this essential work."
