Waterwise Plumber Program

The plumbing industry plays a vital role in promoting water efficiency in WA.

Together with Master Plumbers and Gasfitters Association (MPGA) we’ve been successfully running the Waterwise Plumber Program for more than 15 years. This free program equips plumbers with water efficiency knowledge to help WA become a more water efficient state.

What does the training involve?

The Waterwise Plumber Program includes:

• Waterwise Plumber Online Training through MPGA. This consists of 11 online, self-paced video modules you and other licensed plumbers on your team can do anywhere, anytime. Each module lasts for 7 to 11 minutes and has an assessment for completion at the end.
• Waterwise Customers Essentials Training hosted online by Water Corporation. 

Once training is complete, you’ll be endorsed as a Waterwise Plumber with applied knowledge in:

• Sustainable plumbing practices
• Wastewater management
• Water efficient product selection

Waterwise plumber benefits

• Receive the most up-to-date training on waterwise principles, practices, and products. Being equipped with waterwise knowledge is not only a requirement of the program, but also a fantastic benefit to your business.
• Get access to exclusive branding including program-specific logos and information to help you promote your waterwise services.
• We'll promote your business details on our website as a waterwise specialist.
• You'll be a preferred supplier for our programs and projects.

Waterwise Plumber criteria

The Waterwise Plumber Program is open to MPGA members and other high quality plumbing providers. All plumbing staff (with direct customer contact) must agree to the terms and conditions of endorsement and meet the following criteria:

• Complete the Waterwise Plumber Online Training.
• Complete the Waterwise Customers Essentials Training and agree to the Waterwise Specialist Standard (coming soon).
• Hold a current Plumber's Licence as issued by the Plumbers Licensing Board.
• Complete re-endorsement training through MPGA every 2 years to remain in the program. You’ll be notified in advance when your endorsement is up for renewal.
