Bellevue wastewater upgrades
Project goal:
To upgrade wastewater infrastructure and services in the City of Swan and Shire of Mundaring.
Status:
In construction
Delivery Date:
January 2021
What's happening?
Our authorised contractor, Avid Resources, is undertaking work to upgrade wastewater infrastructure in the City of Swan and Shire of Mundaring.
The work includes:
- An upgrade to the existing Elder Way wastewater pump station; and
- Construction of a 315mm diameter pressure wastewater pipeline approximately 400 metres long, along Katharine Street.
There is one last piece of work to be finished off at the pump station in Elder Way.
In early January, there will be tanker trucks on site to pump and remove wastewater, as well as several light vehicles. This work is expected to take approximately half a day.
Where is this happening?
Please refer to the below map of the work area.
Why is this taking place?
We are upgrading Bellevue’s wastewater system to improve the disposal of wastewater in the City of Swan and Shire of Mundaring.
When is this taking place?
Work began in April 2020 and is estimated to be completed by January 2021. The majority of work has been completed, however there will be some work undertaken at the Elder Way pump station.
How will this impact the community?
Reinstatement of affected areas
Please be assured that any affected areas will be reinstated as closely as possible to their condition prior to the work.
Environment
As part of this work, two trees have been removed in the park on the corner of Katharine Street and Elder Way, to allow sufficient access to lay the pipe; however, all significant trees have been retained. We are working with the Shire of Mundaring to replace the trees and revegetate.
