When is this taking place?

Construction commenced in August 2024 and is estimated for completion in mid 2026.

How will this impact the community?

As with any construction activities there will be an increase in noise, dust and activity in the area. There will also be temporary impacts to roads, verges and pedestrian paths.

We will keep the community updated as the project progresses and be in touch before construction commences in your area.

As a short section of the pipeline will be installed through the Gnangara Pines. We have worked closely with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA), the City of Swan and our environmental team, to minimise any potential impact to the area during and after construction.

We follow a thorough reinstatement process to ensure all impacted areas are replaced like for like, where practically possible. We will also work closely with the City of Swan, City of Wanneroo, businesses and residents to ensure all reinstatements are carried out to an acceptable and high standard.

What is happening?

In a few weeks' time, we will commence work to cross the Alexander Drive/Gnangara Road intersection.

This new stage of work will connect the new pipe from the East and West sides of Gnangara Road. To safely install this new section of pipe we will partially close the intersection and introduce additional traffic detours.

When is this happening?
Work is scheduled to be complete over a once off temporary period, operating throughout the day and night, 24 hours of the day. This work is scheduled between 7:00pm Friday 19 September until 7:00pm Saturday 27 September 2025.
What to expect:
  • This section of pipeline will be constructed by excavating a trench, laying sections of pipe, then covering and restoring the ground above.
  • Work will be being completed across consecutive day and night shifts.
  • Signage will be installed to provide advance warning of upcoming closures and available detours.

What is happening?

We have upcoming night work and related detours in the area. We apologise for any disruption this may cause. Thank you again for your patience and understanding.

What to expect?
  • Traffic lights at the Alexander Drive intersection will remain off, with turning lanes closed and detours in place.
  • From Monday 1 September 2025, we'll reopen Huntingway Parkway and close Coverwood Promenade. This new closure will remain in place for approximately eight weeks. We apologise for any disruption this may cause.
  • To avoid traffic disruptions, please consider using an alternate route when planning your journey. We thank you again for your patience and understanding.

What is happening?

To safely install the new wastewater pipeline across Gnangara Road (at the Priest Road intersection), the Priest Road slip entry and exit lanes from the highway will be closed to all traffic. This closure will last for approximately four weeks.

When is this happening?

Work to install the new pipeline will be completed utilising day shifts, commencing Thursday 18 September and is expected to be completed by Friday 17 October 2025.

What to expect:

• Work will be carried out during day shifts, from 7:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Saturday.

• Please note that noise will occur during the excavation and installation process. We will do our best to carry out this work as fast as possible to minimise any disruption.

• All areas impacted by the work, including verges and footpaths, will be returned to as close to their original condition as possible.
