Evergreen, slow-growing tree to 6 metres high. Produces spectacular displays of bright yellow-orange flowers in late October and through to early December. The plant needs a host as it is a parasitic tree a member of the mistletoe family. Young plants can be started using couch or buffalo grass as the host. As the plant matures it seeks out larger hosts. Can be slow to commence flowering with some gardeners waiting for up to 30 years for their first flower show. Fire and drought tolerant. This plant may only be available at specialist nurseries.

Also known locally by their Noongar name, 'moodjar', these trees are considered sacred to the Noongar people, holding special spiritual significance as the keeper of spirits who have passed.

Pronunciation: Nuut-see-ah
