Genus: Moringa
Species: oleifera
view favourites

A fast-growing, deciduous tree with grey-green foliage and creamy white flowers. Flowers are followed by long seed pods. Young foliage, flowers and fruits are eaten as a vegetable. As a legume, it can produce nitrogen to partially feed itself. While it can grow to more than 10 metres, it's usually pruned back regularly to around 2–3 metres to enable harvesting.

Warning: Not recommended for planting if your garden is near bushland.Â
