SERVICE ALERT: Port Hedland water main burst – 16 August 2025
Update as at 11.30am, 16 August 2025:
Water Corporation crews have successfully completed a temporary repair to a leaking water main supplying Port Hedland, Cooke Point and Pretty Pool.
No water outage has occurred, and a permanent repair will be conducted in coming weeks. This morning’s (16 August) leak was on a pipe supplying the town’s high-level storage tank.

Update as at 8.00am, 16 August 2025:
Residents in Port Hedland, Cooke Point and Pretty Pool may experience a temporary water outage or low pressure this morning (16 August), following a major leak on a water main supplying the town’s high-level storage tank.
An initial repair has been completed to minimise any potential disruption, and further updates will be provided on this page when available.
Following repairs, customers may experience low pressure and ‘white water’ (trapped air which gives water a white or milky appearance) while the full supply is restored.
Water supply to residents in South Hedland, Wedgefield and surrounding areas is unaffected.
