Project goal:

We are planning to construct approximately 150 metres of wastewater pipeline near Leschenaultia Avenue in Margaret River and decommission and remove the existing temporary pump station.

Status:

In planning.

Delivery Date:

The proposed work is scheduled to commence in June 2026.

What’s happening?

As part of our ongoing commitment to futureproof Margaret River’s wastewater network, Water Corporation plans to construct approximately 150 metres of wastewater pipeline near Leschenaultia Avenue in Margaret River. The new pipeline will be located on land owned and managed by the Shire of Augusta‑Margaret River.

Why is this being proposed?

This work will connect two sections of our wastewater network, allowing us to decommission and remove the existing temporary Leschenaultia Avenue Pump Station. This will help improve the efficiency and reliability of wastewater services in Margaret River for years to come.

Where is this happening?

The new pipeline will begin at the existing temporary pump station on Leschenaultia Avenue near Brookfield Avenue, and will cross through Shire reserve land. Once the pipeline has been installed, the existing pump station at Leschenaultia Avenue will be decommissioned and demolished.

When is the work taking place?

Following all necessary approvals, construction is planned to begin in June 2026. It is expected that the new pipeline will be installed and the pump station will be removed by October 2026.

How will this impact me?

Construction impacts

The proposed pipeline will be located below ground. We do not anticipate any direct impact to surrounding properties. As with any construction activities you may notice an increase in activity, truck movements, dust, noise, and minor vibrations while we install the new section of pipeline and the temporary pump station is removed.

Traffic management and pedestrian access

Traffic management and pedestrian detours may be required near the work site. The dog exercise area at Brookfield Reserve will remain accessible throughout the project. However, for community safety, pedestrian detours may be in place during construction. We will provide updates on these impacts in advance.

All areas impacted by the work will be reinstated and returned to as close to their original condition as possible.
