Yanchep water upgrades
Project goals:
We are upgrading water and wastewater infrastructure across Yanchep to support the community long into the future. These essential upgrades will ensure that you and future generations will have access to secure and reliable water and wastewater services. Together, we’re shaping Yanchep’s water future.
Status:
Commencing soon
Delivery Date:
Ongoing from late-2026
What’s happening?
Yanchep is one of Western Australia's fastest-growing communities and demand for water and wastewater services continue to grow. To help meet this demand, we’re delivering a series of water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Yanchep.
These projects will expand and strengthen the local network, helping to keep pace with growth and continue providing reliable services to homes, businesses and community facilities.
As Yanchep continues to develop, additional infrastructure projects will be planned to support future demand. We’ll continue to share information about upcoming work as it becomes available.
Where will the work take place?
There are currently four projects planned to commence across Yanchep over the next year. The proposed locations of these projects are shown on the map below.

Projects underway and planned
Yanchep Marmion Avenue water and wastewater upgrades
- New water and wastewater infrastructure along Marmion Avenue will help strengthen the local network and support continued growth in Yanchep.
Construction is expected to begin in late 2026. For more information please visit the project page.
Yanchep Two Rocks Road wastewater upgrades
- Upgrades to existing wastewater infrastructure and new pipeline connections will improve the performance of the wastewater network in Yanchep.
More information will be provided as the project progresses through the approvals process.
Yanchep water supply upgrade
- A new water pipeline will increase the water supply available from Perth's Integrated Water Supply Scheme, helping diversify water sources for Yanchep.
More information will be provided as the project progresses through the approvals process.
Yanchep Junction pump station and wastewater pipeline
- New wastewater infrastructure will be delivered within the Yanchep Junction residential development and along Botanical Boulevard in Yanchep. This work will be completed by Wolfdene (land developer) and transferred to Water Corporation once complete.
This project is due to commence early-2027 and take approximately 6 months to complete.
How will this impact me?
As these projects are delivered across Yanchep, you may notice changes in areas where work is taking place.
Depending on the location and stage of construction, impacts may include:
- Construction activity, including noise, dust and construction vehicles.
- Temporary traffic changes, such as lane closures, reduced speed limits and detours.
- Temporary water interruptions while new infrastructure is connected to the network.
- Changes to road verges and public areas during construction.
We'll work closely with our contractors to minimise impact and disruption wherever possible and provide advanced notice of planned work and expected impacts.
Frequently asked questions
Yanchep is growing rapidly, with more homes, businesses and community facilities being developed across the area. Multiple projects are needed to ensure water and wastewater infrastructure keeps pace with this growth and continues to provide reliable services for the community.
No. Each project has its own planning, approvals and construction schedule. While some activities may overlap, projects will be delivered at different times and locations across Yanchep. We'll provide project-specific information before construction begins.
Yes. As Yanchep continues to grow, additional infrastructure projects may be required to meet future demand. We'll continue to update this page as more information becomes available.
If construction is planned near your property or business, we'll provide information about timing, work activities and any expected impacts before work begins. Information may be shared through letters, email, phone calls, face-to-face engagement and project webpages.
Hard water can be experienced in the Yanchep area due to the naturally occurring minerals in the local groundwater. Hard water can leave calcium or lime scale on surfaces and appliances as the water evaporates. The water is safe to drink and complies with all health guidelines. Residents can manage mineral residue through regular cleaning with suitable calcium and lime-removal products. To learn more about hard water and how to manage it, visit our hard water webpage.
The Yanchep water upgrades are being delivered to support growth and improve the reliability of water services. These projects will not address or affect hard water in the area.
Discoloured water can occur when increased or redirected water flow disturbs sediment that has settled in pipes. This can happen following changes in water demand, a leak, an outage, or work on the network.
Customers can run the garden tap closest to the meter for two minutes to clear the discolouration and reuse the water on the garden. If the water does not clear, they should call Water Corporation’s 24-hour faults line on 13 13 75. Customers can also register for SMS outage alerts so they can check and flush their water following an outage before it passes through a household filtration system.
Please visit our discoloured tap water webpage for further information.
Water pressure can be influenced by a range of factors, including planned or unplanned water outages, changes to water demand, management of pressure to prevent bursts and leaks, the elevation of your property, the distance of your property from the water main, and your home's internal plumbing.
The Yanchep Water Upgrades are being delivered to support growth and maintain reliable water services as the area continues to grow. These upgrades will help us maintain our target of delivering 20 litres of water per minute at the water meter.
If you are experiencing ongoing low water pressure, visit our low water pressure webpage for information on checking your water flow and requesting a pressure and flow test.
