Project goal:

We're constructing new water and wastewater pipelines along Marmion Avenue to support the growing community in northern Yanchep and help meet future demand for water and wastewater services.

Status:

Commencing soon

Delivery date:

Late 2026 – Early 2028

What's happening?

We're constructing approximately 1.6 km of new water pipeline and 1 km metres of new wastewater pipeline along the eastern side of Marmion Avenue.

The water pipeline will be connected to an existing pipeline near the intersection of Marmion Avenue and Yanchep Beach Road. The wastewater pipeline is being installed now to support future growth and will be connected at a later date. Installing the pipeline now will reduce the need for future construction and help minimise disruption to the community.

Why is happening?

Yanchep is experiencing significant growth, creating increased demand on water and wastewater infrastructure. This project is part of a series of projects being delivered to support the growing Yanchep community. Learn more at watercorporation.com.au/yanchepwaterupgrades.

When is this happening?

At this stage, work is expected to commence in late 2026 and will take approximately 15 months to complete. Most of the work will be completed Monday to Friday between 7am and 5pm. We will notify you beforehand if nightwork or weekend work is required.

Where is this happening?

The new water pipeline will be installed within the eastern road reserve of Marmion Avenue, between Yanchep Beach Road and Botanic Boulevard.

The new wastewater pipeline will be installed simultaneously, within the eastern road reserve of Marmion Avenue, between Yanchep Beach Road and Zamia Rise.

How will this impact me?

During construction, you may notice:
• traffic management and reduced speed limits

• temporary impacts to footpaths and shared paths

• construction vehicles in the area

• noise and dust during work hours.

Access to Splendid Park and Botanic Boulevard will be maintained during construction. Temporary detours or alternative access routes may be required at times to help pedestrians, cyclists and motorists safely move around the work area.

We will work to minimise disruption to residents, businesses, road users and visitors wherever possible..

We thank you for your understanding and cooperation whilst this essential work takes place.

The wastewater pipeline is being installed now to support future growth in northern Yanchep and will be connected at a later date. Installing the pipeline now will reduce the need for future construction and help minimise disruption to the community.

This work is being delivered to support growth and maintain reliable water services in northern Yanchep as the area continues to grow. These upgrades will help support our aim of delivering 20 litres of water per minute at the water meter.

When the new water infrastructure is connected to the existing network, some customers may experience temporary changes to their water pressure. Where possible, we will notify affected customers in advance.

Water pressure can be influenced by a range of factors, including the elevation of your property and your home's internal plumbing.

If you're experiencing ongoing low water pressure, visit our Low Water Pressure webpage for advice and support.

Access to Splendid Park will be maintained throughout construction. Temporary detours or alternative access routes may be required at times when work is taking place near Splendid Avenue.

Traffic management will be in place throughout construction to maintain safe access around the work area. Temporary lane closures, reduced speed limits and detours may be required at times.

The Yanchep Marmion Avenue water and wastewater upgrades are being delivered to support growth and increase the capacity of the water and wastewater network in northern Yanchep. The project is not designed to alter the characteristics of drinking water. For more information about hard water, visit our Hard Water webpage.

This work is being completed on new infrastructure and is not expected to affect your water quality. If activities on the existing water network are required, we will notify affected customers in advance wherever possible. In some circumstances, this work may result in temporary discolouration of water.
