Did you know that more than 10% of water used in the average home goes down the toilet? Choosing a more water-efficient toilet can cut your toilet’s water usage by more than half and save you money on your water bill.

Single flush toilets and early dual flush models are inefficient, using up to 12 litres per flush. By comparison, a new WELS 4-star dual flush toilet uses just 4.5 litres for a full flush and 3 litres for a half flush.

Having a waterwise toilet can save the average household up to 29,000 litres of water per year, that’s equivalent to over 3,200 buckets!

What does the offer include?

We’re offering a rebate of up to $500 towards the cost of replacing

  • a single flush (one button) toilet, or
  • a dual flush toilet installed before 1995.
How do I know if my dual flush toilet was installed before 1995?

Dual flush toilets installed before 1995 have four bolts at the base of the pan securing the toilet to the floor. If your toilet has fewer than four bolts, it is not old enough to qualify for the rebate.

Rebate amounts

Your new toilet(s) must be one of the following:

  • WELS 4-star or higher water rated toilet ($400 rebate), or
  • WELS 5-star toilet with an integrated hand basin ($500 rebate)

A rebate can be claimed for up to 2 toilets per property. Your plumber can recommend the best option for your home.

How does it work?

You will need to organise the replacement of the old toilet/s with WELS 4 or 5 star rated toilet/s to be in installed by a licensed plumber. Please make sure you take before and after photos for us to check.

Once a licensed plumber has removed your old toilet and installed your new one/s, please send us your paid tax invoice/receipt and photos. If approved, we’ll credit the rebate to your Water Corporation account.
