Delivery Date:

2024

April update
Point Leander Drive will move to a single lane on Wednesday, 1 May, 2024.

Traffic management will be put in place to safely direct traffic and pedestrians.

You may also notice an increase in activity and truck movements in the area from 1 to Friday, 3 May, from our wastewater pump station along Point Leander Drive, Blenheim Road, Bailey Street and our wastewater treatment site.

We apologise for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we complete this work which will ensure we can continue to safely manage wastewater in your area.

What’s happening?

Water Corporation’s authorised contractor, Leicon Notley, has commenced works to upgrade the wastewater pump station on Point Leander Drive in Dongara.

Upgrading the pump station will cater for growth in the area and improve the reliability of wastewater services in the town.

The upgrades include:

  • Decommissioning of the existing switchboards,
  • Installation of new pumps, valves, switchboards, and,
  • Installation of a new Western Power Transformer.

When is this happening?

Work on the pump station commenced in February 2024.

The work is expected to take approximately six months to complete.

How will this impact me?

The wastewater pump station will be offline for up to two months and a temporary bypass pump system will be installed. The bypass pump system requires a generator to be operating 24 hours per day and may result in an extended period of noise including outside of normal working hours.

There will be no interruptions to your water supply or wastewater services.

There may be an increase in local traffic as a result of the work. Traffic management may be required at times to direct vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists safely around the work area.

We appreciate construction work can be impactful, and we thank you for your patience and understanding while this essential work is carried out.

Where is this happening?
