June 2024 update
Due to an exceptionally dry period, with no effective rainfall since November 2023, nine trees on Grindleford Reserve have suffered from heat stress and now present a public safety risk.
These trees will be removed on Thursday June 20 and Friday June 21 2024.
Upcoming tree removal:
- Prior to construction we engaged an arborist to study the work area in consultation with the City of Stirling. In early-May, the arborist conducted a routine inspection of the site, covering 82 trees, and noticed a small number of the trees had declined in health.
- As a result, we need to remove these trees. The City of Stirling has approved this work to ensure community safety and it is not something we undertake lightly.
- During the work period, you may notice an increase in noise and activity on site.
- We have consulted with the Chair of the project's Community Liaison Group about the need for this work.
Please see below map which outlines the location of the trees being removed.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience and understanding while we complete this essential work.
April 2024 update
Installation of the new rubbish trap next to Coralvine Grange is almost complete. We are now advancing to installing a new rubbish trap underneath Grindleford Reserve.
Starting Monday 15 April 20224, we will install rubbish traps to protect the drain using a large crane to lift them in place. This site is at Grindleford Reserve next to Grindleford Drive.
The football pitch will not be affected, and traffic will remain unaffected on Grindleford Drive.
While three trees will be removed as part of this work. We have worked with the City of Stirling to minimise environmental impacts and will revegetating the drainage site at the completion of the project.
We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and thank you for your patience and understanding while we complete this work.

How will this impact me?
Noise and vibrations
There will be noise and vibrations as they instal structures and compact the ground. We will have noise and vibration monitors around the area to ensure it stays within approved levels. This work will be from 7:00am to 6:00 pm Monday to Saturday.
Road closures and detours
For the safety of the crew and the community, road closures and detours will temporarily be in place for this drainage upgrading work. Please follow the detour signs and drive safely. Once the rubbish traps are installed, detours will be lifted and road will reopen.
Where will this take place?
This urban stream will run along Grindleford Drive and Honeymyrtle Turn. With sports fields and parkland on one side of the stream and homes on the opposite side, we look forward to improving this drain for the whole community to enjoy.
