A slow-growing, bushy shrub or small tree with lightly toothed dull blue-green leaves and showy, wine-red and orange bird attractant flowers over a long period. Can be pruned after flowering. Seed grown plants usually flower in 6 to 10 years. The more common tree form grows to about to about 6 metres high. Flower colour from seed can vary.
